This excursion starts with a leisurely walking tour, where the sights of Brisbane will be highlighted and a brief history of the River City will be shared by a knowledgeable guide. Once at South Bank Parklands, you will board the classic timer cruiser to enjoy a relaxing and informative perspective of Brisbane’s distinctive river scene. During the 1 ½ hour guided tour you will be entertained by the informative commentary, while taking advantage of the fantastic photo opportunities as you cruise past Brisbane’s most iconic sights including the Kangaroo Point Cliffs, City Centre and the Story Bridge.

The river is central to the story of Brisbane and there is no better way to gain a feeling for this dynamic metropolis and its unique, relaxed lifestyle than to travel its river and sit back and watch the city and its people at work and play. You will be transported beneath the Captain Cook Bridge, following the curve of the river as it rounds the Botanical Gardens and glides past the glass and steel towers of the Central Business District, where prestige offices and multi-million dollar apartments occupy some of the most sought after river front sites in the city.

Traveling beneath the city’s landmark Story Bridge, the cruise rounds Kangaroo Point, known for its small and white sandy beach, great pub and the site of an infamous colonial murder. Continuing downstream, guests take in sights such as a former power station house which is now a theater and restaurant complex. You will also see the genteel residences of some of the city’s more affluent citizens, including a mansion that would not look out of place in “Gone With the Wind”, before reaching Newstead where the Breakfast Creek enters the river.

Cakes, lamington or muffins with tea and coffee are included. A coffee shop and bar is available onboard the cruise vessel for additional purchases at guests’ own expense. All guests will receive a souvenir map to enhance their River Cruise experience.
